The Jump Start program is designed for the novice rider to gain familiarity and comfort with the motorcycle BEFORE taking the Basic Rider Course (BRC).

• Maybe you are not sure about committing 2 or 3 days of your life in order to learn to operate a motorcycle. Are you just not sure, and yet interested?

Jump Start Details

The Jump Start program is made up of the following driving range activities:

1. Motorcycle Familiarization:
This exercise is designed to acquaint the new rider with the major parts and controls of a motorcycle.

2. Using the Friction Zone:
This exercise is designed to introduce riders with the procedures and practices to start out, stop, and operate at low speed in a straight line.

3. Starting and Stopping:
This exercise is designed to provide practice time for riders in learning clutch/throttle coordination in starting out and stopping.

RiderCoaches (instructors) for the program are all experienced motorcycle operators who are state certified by the Department of Motor Vehicles Virginia Rider Training Program (VRTP).

The class is kept small in numbers for your comfort with one or two RiderCoaches.

No personal motorcycles will be used for Jump Start.

You should be able to balance and ride a bicycle before taking the Jump Start class and or the BRC.


WE FURNISH MOTORCYCLES AND HELMETS

Please note: "We ride in the rain and pause for lightning"
Do not attempt to ride on the street after Jump Start.

FOR EVERYONE’S SAFETY;
YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO WITHDRAW FROM THE CLASS IF YOU ARE UNSAFE TO YOURSELF, OTHER STUDENTS OR RIDERCOACHES.

No refund, transfers, or credit if you show up with improper ridding gear or failure to attend on time.
